Photgraphing Nature In Your Yard
It's very important to have places that are close to where you live to photograph. With that being said what could possibly be closer than your own yard? Photographing in my own yard doesn't cost me a thing to travel to and there are plenty of great photo opportunities if you are just willing to do a bit of work and open your eyes to what most people over look everyday.
Animals, just like us need food, water, and shelter to live. I have three bird bathes, about ten bird houses, and I also set up bird feeders from time to time. It's also a great idea to plant native plants that will attract animals. Birds and Blooms magazine is a great source of information on what plants will attract certain birds and butterflies to your yard. If you set up feeders, bathes, and houses like I do please be sure to clean them when they aren't being used on a regular basis to help prevent the transmission of diseases to the animals.
Here are some photos that I have taken in my own yard. I hope you enjoy and good luck on getting your own nature photos in your yard.
